Welcome to EgoCap2

EgoCap2 is a multi-sensor recording device that synchronously saves four video streams, audio, and motion sensor data. This help center is intended for device users and does not require development or command-line experience.

For your first use, follow these steps in order:

  1. Before you begin
  2. 5-minute quick start
  3. Start and stop recording
  4. Confirm a successful recording

:::tip Current version This page applies to EgoCap2 firmware 0.5. You can use the version menu at the top of the page to switch to documentation for other firmware versions. :::

Keep in mind

  • Before recording, make sure an SD card is installed and has enough free space.
  • A rapidly flashing blue light means the device is still preparing; it does not mean that valid data is already being saved.
  • After stopping a recording, wait for the device to finish finalizing before disconnecting power or removing the SD card.
  • Do not disconnect power, remove the SD card, or press buttons repeatedly during a firmware update.

If the device behaves differently from this documentation, first see Indicator lights and Common issues.
